Hi there, my name is Jessica Rowe and I love telling stories. Raised on Kangaroo Island, off the coast of South Australia, I have always found ways of self-expression and celebration, even if that meant posting makeup tutorials on YouTube when I was 13. Being a small town girl at heart, I carry with me a strong appreciation for community and the beautiful land on which we reside. (stolen land that has never been ceded.) I hope to tell human stories, stories of people, and of places. Working with others to bring a story and creative vision to life is what I am most passionate about! I have just graduated from Flinders University with a Bachelor of Creative Arts: Screen. In 2022 I was also one of the two editors for Empire Times, the student magazine.
The second internship was with the Flinders University Social Media Marketing team where I created daily reel content throughout the Flinders Festival of Creative Arts, created a content plan, reported on the campaign and observed the creation of SEO friendly content. I also have experience creating promotional videos for small businesses. Client work like this is something that I am hoping to continue throughout 2023, offering my services along with my talented and enthusiastic crew. Of course, I plan to continue creating and improving in documentary-making. My 2021 short doco, 'The E-girls Of Adelaide,' was selected and shown at the RVK Feminist Film Festival and Sparrowland Short Film Festival. Hopefully I can continue to uplift people's voices through this form in 2023.
In this role we were responsible for running the whole magazine, from sourcing content and writing our own, to designing, distributing and organising events. I am proud to say that we doubled production during our term! In 2022 I also completed two internships; one with Epic Films, where I was responsible for updating spreadsheets, sending out promotional emails, and editing TikToks to advertise the launch of season two of Emmy award winning series First Day.

Unqualified & Unafraid is a podcast born from my desire to interview and uplift emerging creatives in the city I have grown to love. I hope that with much of my work I can provide representation for and celebrate the places I am from. The ethos of U&U is 'just going for it,' and hopefully I can continue to do just that in my creative endeavours. In the new year I would also like to seek out more opportunities to learn about marketing, social media, digital content, and film production office roles. My goal is to find work in these realms within a company under whom I can continue to develop my skills and learn from.don't hesitate to reach out through email. [Jessicarowecreatives@gmail.com]
